The Serengeti without giving up a night of your beach holiday
The 1-Day Serengeti Fly-In is for travellers whose schedule genuinely will not bend. You leave Zanzibar at first light, land in the central Serengeti by mid-morning, spend the day on a private game drive, and fly back to the island in the afternoon.
It is a long day and an expensive one for the hours you get on the ground, and we would rather say so plainly. The flights and the park fee cost the same whether you stay one day or three — park entry is charged per 24 hours regardless of how long you are inside. What this trip buys you is the Serengeti with no night out of Zanzibar.
If you can free up even one night, the 2-day trip is $475 more at two passengers and adds an afternoon, a night and a morning. We will say so when you enquire, before you have paid us anything.

Day 1
Zanzibar to the Serengeti and back
A pre-dawn hotel pickup in Zanzibar catches the 07:00 Flightlink departure, touching down at Seronera Airstrip at 10:00. Your private resident guide meets you at the airstrip with a 4x4 and a pop-up roof, and you go straight into a game drive through the Seronera valley with a picnic lunch in the field.
You have roughly four and a quarter hours on the ground, of which about three and a quarter is active game viewing, tracking resident lion, leopard, elephant and plains game. In the afternoon you return to the airstrip for the 14:30 flight to Zanzibar and a transfer back to your hotel.
A published floor applies to this trip. If a delay drops your ground time below three hours we cancel and refund in full. Between three and four hours we telephone you before you board, tell you the real number, and you choose whether to fly or take the same refund. We will not sell you a token visit.

Pricing
Rates, per adult
Sharing basis, in US dollars. The rate falls as the party grows because the vehicle, the guide and the fees are shared across it. A safari jeep takes seven.

Children aged 0–4 carry no vehicle share, so two adults and an infant price in the 2-pax band. A party of eight needs a second vehicle and reprices for everyone — ask us before you book. 30% deposit confirms.

What the tiers mean. Mid-range in the Serengeti is a permanent lodge or a semi-permanent tented camp: en-suite bathroom, hot water, a real bed, full board, usually solar power with limited hours. It does not mean a pool or air conditioning.
Luxury is not one thing on this site. Properties are assigned by region, not by season — a permanent lodge in the central Serengeti, a tented camp in the north. Both are excellent and both cost the same. They are not the same kind of stay, so we label them by region rather than let you assume.
