The 2-Day Serengeti Safari is the shortest excursion that still gives you a genuine overnight in the middle of the Serengeti.
You fly north after breakfast, game drive that afternoon, sleep surrounded by wilderness, and head out again before dawn for a final drive before the return flight to Zanzibar. It suits travellers with a fixed beach booking and exactly one spare night.
Be clear with yourself about what this is. One night means one afternoon and one morning of proper game viewing. That is enough to see the Serengeti; it is not enough to explore it. If you have a second night free, the 3-day adds a whole unbroken day for a relatively small increase — and the jump in what you actually see is larger than the jump in price.

Day 1
Zanzibar to Seronera & afternoon game drive
Hotel pickup in Zanzibar for the 07:00 Flightlink departure, landing at Seronera Airstrip at 10:00. Your private resident guide meets you at the airstrip and game viewing begins immediately along the route to your lodge or camp.
After lunch and check-in you head out for an extensive afternoon game drive lasting until last light, working the resident lion prides, leopards and elephant herds of the central plains.

Day 2
Morning game drive & return to Zanzibar
An early pre-dawn departure catches the best light and the most predator movement across the valley. Back to the property for breakfast and check out, then a final game viewing session on the way to Seronera Airstrip.
Board the 10:00 flight south to Zanzibar, where a transfer takes you directly back to your coastal hotel.

What the tiers mean. Mid-range in the Serengeti is a permanent lodge or a semi-permanent tented camp: en-suite bathroom, hot water, a real bed, full board, usually solar power with limited hours. It does not mean a pool or air conditioning.
Luxury is not one thing on this site. Properties are assigned by region, not by season — a permanent lodge in the central Serengeti, a tented camp in the north. Both are excellent and both cost the same. They are not the same kind of stay, so we label them by region rather than let you assume.
